About the event
This course is designed to train individuals who are competent in their personal skills as a SUP paddler, and they are seeking development to be able to teach and instructor others. This course is also for individuals who may already be teaching SUP, but they lack a formal certification. Information can be found HERE about becoming an ACA instructor. The Level 1 Introduction to SUP and Level 2 Essentials of SUP Instructor Cerfification Workshop (ICW) is a combined Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) and Instructor Certification Exam (ICE). Essentially, it is a training for L1 and L2 Instructors with an assessment. At higher instructing levels, these will be separate. There is limited time available for development of essential skills for the L1 and L2 Instructors during the ICW. Therefore, it is paramount that candidates make sure they evaluate themselves appropriately at the Level they wish to seek certification in prior to the course.
The course covers a total of 4 days. There are 3 days spent training and developing skills along with planning and delivering sessions. The fourth day is a series of online and asynchronous learning exercises. A timeframe is given for when they need to be completed by. The course fees is $3000 HKD, and individuals need to be a full ACA member and cover their SEIC dues following the course.
